Here’s a sampling of my work with UNC’s independent student newspaper, The Daily Tar Heel. It has a readership of about 39,000 people and is consistently ranked one of the best college papers in the nation. There, I have worked as assistant University editor, a senior writer and social media manager.

In the summer of 2013, I worked as an editorial intern for Nashville Lifestyles Magazine, a regional publication based in Nashville, Tenn. Approximately 91 percent of its circulation is paid. Mostly, I wrote album reviews and Cityscape sections featuring new local businesses and trends. I also copy edited cover stories.

My first year of college, I wrote for Seventeen Magazine as one of its “Freshman 15″ college correspondents. The magazine sells 20 million issues annually. I wrote weekly blogs on topics ranging from life as a sober college student to pop culture. I would also appear in in-book features, offering tips to women heading off to college.
